Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill Opened Third Orange County Location September 24

Irvine, CA Wednesday, October 15, 2014Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a Denver-based fast casual restaurant concept featuring fresh and healthy Mediterranean cuisine, celebrated the grand opening of its third orange county location. Opened September 24 at Von Karman Plaza (16569 Von Karman Ave. Irvine, CA), the new restaurant is owned and operated by Banzo Bean, Inc.

The newest Garbanzo joins existing company-owned and franchisee-owned locations throughout the country. 

“The new Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill in Von Karman is a great location to serve the community,” explains Bill Gunstream. “We are excited about our partnership with both Families Forward and the Irvine Public School Foundation. While we serve food, we are ultimately in the people business and our team is looking forward to getting to know our loyal guests.”

Pre-opening festivities at the new location included private fundraisers for two local charities.  Families Forward, which assists families in financial crisis to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency, and Irvine Public School Foundation (IPSF), which enriches the educational experience of each child in every school, have partnered with the new Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill in Von Karman for its opening.

Garbanzo offers guests a variety of authentic Mediterranean items with an emphasis on flavor, freshness and quality, as well as a healthy trans-fat free menu. Guests have the ability to customize every meal with items such as pita, wraps, falafel, gyros, hummus, seasoned rice, sauces and dressings. All Garbanzo salads and sauces are prepared on-site daily, and the pita are made from scratch throughout the day in every restaurant. Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill franchisee Banzo Bean, Inc, was formed by David Clouse and Bill Gunstream, both of whom graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego with a degree in business administration.  Residing in Parker, Colorado, Clouse is the founder of Vacation Rentals by Owner (, which he owned and managed from 1995 - 2006.  Also from Parker, Colorado, Gunstream resides in Southern California and spent 30 years in the restaurant industry, primarily in the family segment as a franchisee, franchise business consultant and regional director.  Banzo Bean, Inc. operates Garbanzo restaurants in Southern California.
