The Las Vegas Business Press' Robert Horne explores the two Southern Nevada cities that place among the best logistics hubs in the Western US according to a study by the Boyd Co.: Mesquite took the lead for best site for a warehouse/distribution center based on annual operating costs of $13.7 million, while North Las Vegas came in at fifth place with $14.6 million in annual operating costs.

Harsch Investment Properties SVP, Las Vegas Regional Manager John Ramous weighs in on the advantages of North Las Vegas, where Harsch-owned property Speedway Commerce Center is located. "There are 1,300 acres identified in the Speedway and I-15 corridor that could be developed in North Las Vegas for a 'big box' distribution center," Ramous said. "There are a number of distribution centers and other business that could draw from the labor pool here. We have about 2.1 million people living in the area. … We have an economy that is starting to diversify and that bodes well for the future perception of distribution centers."
