The Sacramento Business Journal's Ben van der Meer reports that Harsch Investment Properties has broken ground on a 141,000-square-foot building at 1060 Riverside Parkway, part of the Riverside Commerce Center in West Sacramento. The project will be an industrial high-cube distribution building visible from Interstate 80, with 30-foot clear heights and doors on both sides of the building to allow deliveries to come in one side and out the other.

“This is strictly on spec,” said Senior Vice President, Sacramento Regional Manager John Shorey. “We see vacancy coming down, and the rates are going in the right direction.”

Van der Meer writes that Harsch is also edging closer to vertical construction of the Blue Oaks Commerce Center in Roseville, a 49.4-acre project of 17 buildings and more than 500,000 square feet.
