Harsch Investment Properties Announces Central Eastside Industrial Office Development
July 6, 2016
Harsch Investment Properties, the Portland-based real estate firm headed by Jordan Schnitzer, has unveiled plans for a 9-story, 90,000-square-foot project in Portland's Central Eastside Industrial District. Located at 129 SE Alder Street, the new building will house high-demand creative office space in one of the most dynamic areas of the city, adjacent to Harsch's recent award-winning developments for House Spirits Distillery and Steven Smith Teamaker. The building is designed by Works Partnership Architecture and features prime amenities, including a rooftop deck with views of the city, floor to ceiling glass, and on-site parking for tenants. Delivery is slated for Q3 2018.

In the article from the Portland Business Journal, reporter Jon Bell notes that the development "marries modern flair with a nod to neighborhood's industrial history." Bill Neburka, Principal at Works Partnership Architecture, explains, "It's always interesting to think about about how you synthesize the nature of the historic area with new construction, especially with the way the Central Eastside is evolving into one of the most sought-after areas in the city."

Harsch is partnering with R&H Construction to create the building, and Jake Lancaster and Annalore Rodman, of JLL Portland, are representing Harsch in the lease up of the building. Lancaster believes the building will appeal to a range of tenants: "It will have great amenities, such as balconies and terraces, and be attractive to tech and creative companies that are both local and national."
